About Us

For over 60 years, Mental Health America of Vigo County (MHAVC) has been dedicated to responding to the community and its mental health and wellness needs.

Established in 1950, as a nonprofit organization to promote mental health, MHAVC provides services through out Vigo County with our focus being on advocacy, education and services for mental health issues.

MHAVC is an affiliate of Mental Health America. With over 325 affiliates, Mental Health America represents the largest and oldest not for profit organization concerned with mental health and mental illness. Mental illness is a major public health problem, with one in five Americans experiencing depression or anxiety disorders every year.
